Traveling by car

We recommend using ride sharing apps like Uber and Lyft if you are going to be keeping within a few miles of the city limits as there is a lot to do and traffic can be bad. If you are going to get a car, be aware that there are toll roads in the area. Be sure to set a little money aside for tolls and/or be ready to use EzPass with rented cars.

Traveling by plane

Traveling by plane to Washington DC will take you to one of three airports in the area (collectively the WAS airports).

  • DCA (Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport) - 7 minutes from DC War Memorial

  • IAD (Dulles International Airport) - 27 minutes from DC War Memorial

  • BWI (Baltimore Airport) - 50 minutes from DC War Memorial

Metro (train) service exists between DCA and IAD and Washington DC proper. Rates are variable during the weekday and $2.00 per person per trip on the weekends.

Traveling by car

We recommend using ride sharing services to get to and from the ceremony. There is parking at the National Mall. However, it is a little bit of a walk between the parking lot and the Memorial. Please note that parking may be limited and it may be metered as well.

Pinstripes Georgetown
There are two Pinstripes in the area, and our reception is located at Georgetown, DC. Make sure that you are not entering the North Bethesda location.

Traveling by car

We recommend using ride sharing services to get to and from the reception. There is parking near the venue. However it can be difficult to find a spot close by, and you may have to park further away.

How to get around

Metro
The DC Metro area has a good system of buses and trains that can take you all around the city and area.

Uber / Lyft

Uber and Lyft are great ways to get around in a car when you don’t have one. Rates are flexible depending on how busy they are, but rates are usually around $10 to $20 for reasonable distances within town.


Scooter / Bike

If you are making short trips within a city, it may be worth renting scooter or bicycle. Simply download the app of the bike or scooter, follow the directions in app to begin, and then ride as far as you need. Scooters especially can be picked up and dropped off anywhere though bikes do need to be returned to a stand (though not necessarily one you found it. These are usually fairly cheap at about $0.30 per minutes (about $10 for 15 minute ride). You can also get day passes on many services.
